It wasn’t pretty, but it was powerful. In a match defined by grit, determination, and resilience, DC Hyper defeated Touch Kings 1-0 on Saturday night at Edgewood Rec Center, securing their third consecutive win and maintaining a 100% record in the UPSL DMV North Premier.

With eight players unavailable and six debutants in the squad, the Thunder stepped onto the pitch heavily rotated and visibly lacking rhythm. But what the team lacked in chemistry, it made up for in heart. Newcomers Jason Guevara, Douglas Guevara, Isaac Busenze, Gerardo Osorio, Allan, and Jorge were all thrown into action, contributing to a hard-fought team performance that showcased depth, unity, and sheer willpower.

“It was a battle from start to finish,” said Head Coach Sergio Caetano. “Sometimes the quality won’t be there, but commitment and discipline must always be — and that’s what won us the game.”

The decisive moment came in the second half when Hassan ElSayed delivered a precise cross into the box, and Zico Teixeira rose above the defenders to head home the match-winning goal. It was a moment of clinical execution in an otherwise physical and scrappy contest.

Defensively, the Hyper once again stood tall, recording their third consecutive clean sheet. Through three rounds, the team has five goals scored, zero conceded, and continues to establish itself as one of the early title contenders in the region.
