DC Hyper has kicked off the 2025 UPSL DMV North Premier season in dominant fashion, earning three straight victories, scoring five goals, and conceding none. At the heart of this strong start is Head Coach Sergio Caetano, now in his fourth season at the helm of the Washington, D.C.-based club.

With experience coaching in Brazil and working in developmental football environments, Caetano has become a cornerstone of DC Hyper’s sporting identity. Under his leadership, the team has built a style centered on organization, resilience, and collective intensity — even through roster changes and competitive challenges.

“Continuity is a huge advantage in a project like this,” Caetano said. “Knowing the structure of the club, the league, and the players allows us to build a game model that’s stronger and more adaptable to what each match demands.”

The latest test came in the team’s narrow 1-0 win over Touch Kings, a game marked by adversity. Missing eight players and featuring six first-time starters, the team still managed to control the tempo and walk away with three points — another example of Caetano’s tactical flexibility and group management.

“We knew it would be a match where we’d have to overcome a lot. We had a heavily rotated squad with new arrivals stepping in, but the players responded well. We stayed organized, followed the plan, and got the result. That speaks volumes about this group’s mindset.”

Beyond results, Caetano’s impact has also been felt in the locker room, where he emphasizes discipline, preparation, and a balance between youth and experience. His leadership has created a foundation that extends beyond the scoreboard.

“The biggest challenge is keeping the group balanced and competitive over a long season. This league is tough. Each game brings a new context, and we need to be ready for all of them.”

DC Hyper returns to the field this Saturday, April 26, against MoCo 1776 at Gaithersburg High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM, as the Thunder look to extend their perfect start in the UPSL DMV North Premier.
